Alla, en fondo de los mares australes, cayo herido de muerte, una leyenda viviente que soporto tantos avatares.
Salio indenne, aquel domingo de diciembre, cuando un enjambre de aves metalicas, se lanzo contra tus pares, sin tener todavia un papel firmado que justificara tanto destrozo... oh los papeles, o los limites imaginarios, solo la ambicion es la que reina y muchos la disfrazan de ideales....
Como una burla del destino, esta vez si habia un limite, y tu navio, poderoso te alejabas de el, con rumbo opuesto, sin embargo bajo las aguas acechandote un emulo que aquel ataque traicionero de 1941, recibio la orden fatal de terminar con deriva....fue tan tremenda la orden que el capitan al mando del Conqueror 3 veces solicito la confirmacion de ejecuta la pena de muerte....y esta que era una justificacion politica fue llevada a cabo.....tres torpedos fueron enviados a tu encuentro....y paradoja del destino al fin, eran del mismo modelo de aquellos que hundieron a tus colegas en la bahia de Pearl Harbor, la que arrastro al fondo no solo tus manparos y tus cañones, tus bulones y tus recuerdos, tambien se llevo a 323 marinos, que el destino puso entre tus fierros, para que hagan guardia de honor alla en el fondo donde tantos han caido. Tal vez sea el mejor fin para un navio de guerra.....y no una muerte lenta arrumbado junto un muello, a la espera de ser desguasado.
Por los que cayeron, por los que sobrevivieron y por todos los que de alguna forma hemos surcado las aguas.. seguiras siempre en la memoria GLORIOSO CRUCERO GENERAL BELGRANO
